The Moores are a third-generation West Coast forest products family that produce forest products from logs & lumber into the finished product. Located on Vancouver Island, we have been producing a variety of specialty forest products for the past 12 years. We sort and then cut the planks to desired length and then plane, sand, heat brand, shrink wrap and label each plank.

The lumber selected is mostly clear, Western Red Cedar and has been kiln dried or naturally air dried. The drying is an extremely important part of the process in that if left green, the product retains moisture which can produce mold. When the lumber is dried, the moisture is taken out of the cells of the wood so when you soak your planks, the cells expand drinking up whatever liquid you are using giving you better steaming, smoking and flavour.

B.C.. Coastal Grilling Planks, are 5/8" thick so they won't burn up on your grill and are nice enough to serve directly to your table.
